Richard Vobes’ quiet retreat: “I think physical books are great”

In his retreat talk, Richard Vobes gives us his first bit of feedback on The Spire. He also talks about a similar book he’s writing himself. Both books are looking at a possible dystopian future/the current modern world and comparing to the past. “I think physical books are great,” Richard mentions, adding that people are silently retreating from the system. Without causing any noise, we can retreat – perhaps with a book – and find a bit of peace, “without all the nonsense.” Richard has also published a book himself called Biggleswick, the Town That Wouldn’t Comply. Similar to The White Rose UK, he has published his book independently, without using giant retailers for distributing. You can write an email to him to order a copy.
