Fr Mark Goring talks about the blessed souls in purgatory – a place of purifying. He encourages us to pray for our own souls, whilst we still can. “We should spend our whole lives praying for ourselves”. He also recites St Paul in the Bible: “This is the will of God – your holiness.” and he adds that in this life, we are meant to become pure and holy, and for this prayer is needed.
In the Catechism of the Catholic Church he reads: “All who die in God’s grace and friendship but still imperfectly purified are indeed assured of their eternal salvation, but after that they undergo purification so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of Heaven.” (video: Fr.
