I’m reading The Spire, and find it addictive. Although based in the 1800s, it’s only a few decades ago that life was like that, and I remember it.
There were no cameras, smartphones, or computers. We all made our own entertainment and were far happier and contented, and we were free. No nanny-state telling us what to do, what to eat, or anything else. Now it’s all about control and obey, or you will get a fine. Everything now is based on fear.
Houses were mainly terraced with cobble streets and in close vicinity to factories and mills with thousands employed in them. Yes, mill work was, like the book says, hard difficult and legal slavery.
There were very few cars and thick smog from factory and home coal fire chimneys, but my opinion is it was this pollution that stopped the sun reaching us and so kept things cooler. Now that we have stopped polluting, the sun has returned to its natural form and can once again reach us like God intended it to do. Without the sun everything will simply die.
If anything, CO2 was stopping any so-called global warming by filtering it out, yet we also need CO2 to survive. Trees breathe it in and breathe out oxygen which we need. So by destroying trees we are contributing to our own demise. I believe climate change is natural. Left to nature it will continue to change, no matter what we do.
In my days at school, summers were sweltering with blue skies and a yellow sun and went on for months. Now just a few days of warm natural weather, and they scream ‘climate change’. Instead of being sent home we used common sense and opened windows, but few people today have any common sense. They have to be told what to do and think, controlled by their smartphones.
We slept on top of the bed, windows open and sweating so much, we couldn’t sleep. Yes, it was far hotter then it is now. I know – I was there.
As most young people today were not around to see those hot summer days, they have no idea how hot it got. Not being there to see it makes them far easier to get brainwashed. I read one comment sent to me saying Greta told you this would happen, but you wouldn’t listen. Greta, yes, a school girl with no qualifications in anything, in fact she was a drop-out, yet made herself look like a top climate expert.
I can’t wait to finish the book and see what other truths it brings out.
